Come home today and lift weights. After all, if Georgia can live on 1200 calories a day and exercise like a madwoman, so can I. Right? Right.
But instead, after an alligator-to-the-eyeballs day with an arterial bleed at 1830, I went and had two beers and a grilled portabello mushroom.
With cheese.
NCLEX question: How much blood can one lose from a femoral artery bleed following an arteriogram?
Answer: Not as much as you'd expect, but God it looks like a fucking lot when it's spread around.

You know, I'm studying for the NCLEX right now...(well, actually I am reading blogs because I am tired of studying for a while)
If you are going to ask that kind of question, you could at least give me an answer... Now I'm gonna have to look it up!!!
Hope tomorrow's better, Jo!

Hi Jo,
Your weblog is great to read.
I'm a writer, working on a screenplay involving a male nurse who works in the emergency dept. (I'm currently a secondary school teacher, so I can kinda appreciate the people aspect of your work.)
If you could give me any advice or thoughts on how I could make his character/feelings and dialogue more realistic, I would be immensely grateful.
For instance, where you wrote about nursing being disorientating and sometimes you have to ask patients about the date and time: that is something a non-nurse wouldn't have a clue about.
Thanks a lot.
Diane
