Y'know how you feel when a friend does something really great?

That's how I feel right now. My pal Nikki, late of "CatsNotCancer," is doing THIS.

Nikki, although you wouldn't know it to look at her, has ovaries of titanium and shoots laser beams out of her eyes. On vacation, she goes to Australia and rubs Great White Sharks on the belly, to which they respond by rolling over and purring. If she meets a rattlesnake while she's out hiking, the rattlesnake bows politely and gets out of the way. Bees fear her. Butterflies worship her. She's dressed by a posse of bluebirds and little woodland creatures every morning, after which she distributes semiautomatic weapons and shoulder-mounted grenade launchers of Truth to all of them, the better to fight for justice.

Because, you know, this lawsuit isn't all she's done. She's also been a hell of a pal to me.

And if BCBSTX doesn't see reason as regards the Obturator of Doom, you can bet I'll be channelling Nikki when I go see them. With a smiiiiiile.

I deeply admire Nikki's *continuing* core-of-steel strength and her tough, Never-Give-Up Determination----(and I can sure see how she's your pal, because you have those same two qualities, too, no kidding).

I just finished watching "Illusion" - a short (2:01 minutes) film, publicly released in 2011, by the same Nikki, (i.e., Nikki Mackey), and Connie Finn; and I'm probably the only one on Planet Earth who HASN'T seen this film. Although I haven't had breast cancer myself, I've had numerous "scares," including a punch biopsy (negative); but I've had too many family members/too many friends, as we all sadly have, who............ weren't as fortunate as I've been, with (so far) negative breast cancer diagnoses.

Nikki's superb film, (which she herself stars in), is honestly............ *R.I.V.E.T.I.N.G.*............ i.e., so much so that I'm not sure whether or not I even *exhaled* during it's 2:01 minutes length; and her #4 Comments (as "YellowJasmin") AFTER the YouTube video show just how genuinely *giving* and determined Nikki is, too. T.h.a.n.k. y.o.u., Nikki.

I think I love her. :) I am beyond frustrated with the political BS that is going on around the ACA. When it comes down to it, IT WILL HELP PEOPLE. What else matters??? I have even had nurses who are against it, "there's already a nursing shortage, and this will make it worse." Uh, perhaps, but isn't that because more people will be able to get care? And isn't that, as a nurse, what you're supposed to want?

Also, having a child with a lifelong, serious, and eventually terminal disease...yeah, I support the ACA. I support not having to worry that we'll hit the lifetime caps just when his needs are the highest. I support being able to change jobs and not have to worry that he won't be covered under my new employer.

Sigh. I could go on and on and I know I'm preaching to the choir. I will end by saying THANK YOU NIKKI!!
