Interesting email I got....

There's an interesting article up at Nursing Degrees about what drives nurses out of the profession.

Here 'tis:

Interesting -- but I think it's still about the money. As a technical writer, I can (or could, if I could find a job right now :-\) make anywhere from $70-90K as a TECHNICAL WRITER -- a dull, comfortable job where I just sit at my desk tapping on a keyboard most of the day, with time out for meetings and discussions with subject-matter experts read: computer geeks). Basically the same money an RN makes -- for doing MUCH harder work. And my job is MUCH lower-stress, and the consequences of screwing up much less severe (usually zero -- worst case I've ever had, I might have had to re-print a book, if I'd fessed up to messing up the index, which I didn't, and I don't think the client noticed)... I was a technical writer in the Midwest, and if I could have made $70-90K, I would never have tried nursing.

Sitting in meetings with the nerds sometimes is horribly, horribly boring.
