There were a couple of swollen lymph nodes, one borderline, but once Dr. Crane looked at the back of my sinuses (conveniently exposed for his perusal) he said, "Oh my gosh! You have a lot of goop in there, for sure. Y'know what'll fix that up, is a Solumedrol Dose-Pak. . . "
(glances over at my face)
". . . . or not. Um. . .you don't like Medrol?"
"It makes me want to hug people."
"It makes you want to hug people. . . .?"
"Until they stop breathing."
The swollen lymph nodes are a reaction, apparently, to the horrid allergy season that's hit us this year.
My next scan is an MRI in four months. Wahoo!
Awesome! I can't imagine how stressful it must have been to await the results.
ReplyDeleteI want to steal that line. I often want to hug people until they stop breathing. Congrats on the clean CT!
ReplyDeleteThan God !!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a bear hug . ;-)
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWahoo, indeed! Thanks for the report.
ReplyDeleteLove that line to the doc.
(My husband and I just returned from being out of town; and the first thing I did, Jo, was turn on the computer to seeee............)
ReplyDeleteThank God, the CT of your chest was *N.E.G.A.T.I.V.E.*!! I'm just way-beyond-happy for you-~~~(and so, so grateful, too!!)~~~that it WAS negative!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, (*exhaling*)............
I know there's not a lot of knowledge/research about polymorphous adenocarcinoma because "the numbers" of those diagnosed are (relatively) very low............ (i.e., as you noted in your 10/8/10 blogpost, only about 400 people get polymorphous adenocarcinoma every year)............ but is there maybe any anecdotal medical evidence which might indicate, say, that the greater number of *years* your CT Scans and MRIs (of the chest) are negative............ that the odds, then, of being diagnosed with m.e.t.a.s.t.a.t.i.c. polymorphous adenocarcinoma *decrease*?? Maybe a really NIFTY Inverse Relationship that would, hopefully, be in YOUR favor?? (I sincerely hope that my askin' isn't being too "nosy" and/or that it comes-off-as being crass either, Jo!!)
Anyway, 'time now for YOU; (and for all of your minions, too, haha!!)............ to............ *C.*E.*L.*E.*B.*R.*A.*T.*E.* this very Good News of your negative CT Scan!!
I share your allergy pain. Years of shots still haven't dulled my reddened eyes.
ReplyDeleteYou know it's a horrible allergy season when the pharmacy runs out of your regular nose spray.
Nice!
WHEW--so glad to hear! I've been checking multiple times daily (Google Chrome makes that too easy!) and hoping you'd get results before a holiday weekend.
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic weekend!
Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the tree pollen gets me every time.
--Queen Anne's Lace
The odds are EVAH in your favor!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAm so glad! You must be limp with relief - I think the stress of waiting for test results is brutal.
ReplyDeleteTold'ya.
ReplyDeleteYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, what terrific news!!! So very happy for you!!!
Wo0t for you! Clear CT. God, I hate allergies (and CT scans too!).
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you ... that's great news!
ReplyDeleteYay, I am so glad, Jo!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations indeed. A bit belatedly but I'm on my 3rd day in a row, you understand.
ReplyDeleteHappy day! So happy to read that your CT is clear. Love the hug comment.
ReplyDeleteCrazy Pollen here on the East Coast. Congrats to you! wheeee!
ReplyDeleteThe Bloggess puts it thus: A hug is just a strangle you haven't finished yet.
ReplyDeleteWooly, I was thinking of the Bloggess when I made that remark.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for passing your chest exam. I can sympathize. I had surgery for a sarcoma in my right lung last year. I also had a clean CT scan this year. The Surgeon called my day of surgery my birthday. So I have just had my first cancer birthday. Allergies are a problem too. I live in an allergy mecca.
ReplyDeleteLiving with cancer is a courageous day at a time thing.
Stay well.
