    Funnily enough, my daughter played the chimes to Ode to Joy in church this morning (in a rendition not far off of Beaker's, but that's a bit of an aside).

    It never fails to amaze and inspire me that Beethoven was totally deaf when he wrote Ode to Joy. After its premiere, Beethoven (who was conducting) had to be turned around so he could see the standing ovation he was receiving.
