In answer to queries via email: The Dorothy Parker Edition

On writing:

"I hate writing; I love having written."

On drinking:

"Martinis are like breasts: one is not enough, three is too many."

On breakups, then and now:

(Then):

(And now):

"In youth, it was a way I had,
To do my best to please.
And change, with every passing lad
To suit his theories.

But now I know the things I know
And do the things I do,
And if you do not like me so,
To hell, my love, with you."

Multimedia status haiku - very well said. May you have all the grace you need and more.

The first time I heard that LeAnn Rimes song I was pondering whether it was the whiniest-ass breakup song I had ever heard, or if the guy had died. The line about, "when they see me out here talking to this stone," gave me the answer.

I bawled.
