Rather, I was in awe of him, being so. . . .well, *cheerful,* even if it was in a wry sort of way, about our mutual lunatic.

I wouldn't last ten minutes in an ED. I like a certain amount of adrenaline, but I hate flat-out chaos. The folks who work at County General, with its metal detectors and its theft-proof wheelchairs, are a totally different breed than I am. I admire them, the way I admire people who fly in wingsuits or mountain-bike down Everest, but I could never be them.

Let alone be as cheerful as my Cheerful ED Nurse Guy was. Golly.
Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16520599099436383317noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6833607.post-89318768706571353262015-05-11T19:15:56.398-07:002015-05-11T19:15:56.398-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04688854615638131688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6833607.post-69107295592316332112015-05-11T16:48:59.203-07:002015-05-11T16:48:59.203-07:00jo:
