I am always amazed at others who say, "Oh, I don't know what to say to the one who is sick, whose loved one is sick, the widowed, the wounded, etc.."
I always say, just say it like it is and my dear you do that so
well. I love ya Jo and so thankful for your voice out there in blog land.

xoxo
Jamiejamiegirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17344722771631497384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6833607.post-47879750401976504542011-02-05T07:44:11.779-08:002011-02-05T07:44:11.779-08:00I lost my mother as a kid to cancer. And you'...I'm glad you're there for her. And you're right, sometimes we feel the need to apologize even when we haven't in fact done anything wrong. I hope you got the IV in and I can only imagine it is helpful to your friend to have someone who can really hear and talk with her.

I do think for some folks dying gets easier as it gets closer. When my mom was first diagnosed with breast cancer several years ago, we had to tell my special needs brother that mom was sick with cancer. Everyone he had known in his life who had cancer died from it quickly. He told her that he wasn't ready to lose her yet. After that he started to become more vocal with the extended family. He calls one of the cousins or uncles to ask about visiting months in advance, has a menu already planned, a list of guests, and who will pick up him to bring him to the event.
He has told my mom this fall that he would be okay without her. That is even more heartbreaking to be told it would be okay.Jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02528819541576976843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6833607.post-57962854279694469282011-02-04T15:41:23.439-08:002011-02-04T15:41:23.439-08:00Praying for you, and her.Praying for you, and her.messymimihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10649529601786689712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6833607.post-21867663681135159932011-02-04T09:53:32.172-08:002011-02-04T09:53:32.172-08:00Wow, that's a touching story.
