Because--and this is what gets me--her pediatrician told her the same thing, but she and her husband wanted to talk to a nurse, because nurses really know what's going on.
(Never mind that I know next to zilch about pediatrics, and that heat-rash is pretty easy to diagnose.)
It gives you the warm fuzzies.
(Plus, I got to play with a baby for a few minutes which, if you are a fan of babies for a few minutes at a time, as I am, is not a bad thing.)
Always remember the nurse knows who the best doctor is and is the person keeping the doctor's rump out of a sling for the 23 hours and 45 minutes of the day that the doctor's not with you in the hospital.
ReplyDeleteYes, nurses rock!
makes a nice change from them not believing what you say until the dr says so
ReplyDeleteThat's kind of sad that they don't feel secure about their pediatrician, though. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! That part of being a nurse RAWKS!!! My neighbors do the same...only it's usually a panicked knock on my door...but I am more than happy to put their minds at ease best I can! SIGH...family and friends also call to "verify" what their physician told them...heh! Let's face it - folks are wise to the REALITY of who knows what's best! Nurses! ;-)
ReplyDeleteyup, nurses rock! and babies are always a sign of hope for new possibilities....and much less scary when you get to cuddle them and then give them back! stay cool, Jo.
ReplyDeletethinking healing thoughts for Max..and cool ones for all of you...
That's adorable!! My husband is a nurse and is always treated with such reverence, it's so cool
ReplyDeletenot surprised! Not one dang bit!! My best friend is a nurse...I value her opinion just as high as the doc's...sometimes even higher!
